Choosing a camera.

So what are you up to? When not compact, how much bigger would you like it? What feautures would you like to get? I just got another camera because my Powershot G6 was stolen. Now I switched to a D-SLR Nikon D70 which I could get used at a very reasonable price. I bought a Nikon D50 which is at the cheaper end of the market as I knew I wouldn’t understand some of the features of the more expensive models and wanted something fairly simple to learn with. It came with a 18-55mm zoom lens and I found that the shorter 18mm (shorter than most compacts) allows better and easier framing of shots, especially landscapes. I’ve been trying out some of the features, some with success and some with disastrous failure, but it’s been fun trying. It has a good manual function that I'm experimenting with at present. A lot of my animal shots were taken with this camera as it has a x12 zoom. It really lives up to the great reviews it has received. I still have my compact though as it can make taking pics in certain situations easier. --- Enjoy it while you can!
