This impressive, medieval castle, owned by the Knights Hospitaller (1142 - 1271), sits threatening in the Hom Gap and surveys until today the major road between Homs and Tartus and also the oil pipline between the East of the country to the terminal at Tartus. It tells from the power of the Knights.
