Orlando - capital of amusement

Orlando is situated in the heart of Florida. Especially it`s the entrance to THE amusement area of the world. The airport is one of the busiest in the US although it doesn`t seems so. It´s easy to find one´s way. In the Orlando area there are many hotels and motels of every category. You can nowhere get a cheaper room. There are so many theme parks in that area that you can spend your whole holidays there.But it´s also a good location to make excursions to other parts of Florida. If you are interested in american sports there are some possibilities to enjoy a NBA, NFL, NHL or MLB-game.

Favourite spots:
Even if you don´t like Disney you have to visit at least one of the Disney parks to make your own experience. Although the big parks cost in about 52 $ entrance per day, it´s worth it. You can´t compare it for example with theme parks in Europe. It´s a perfect organization and even the waiting time at the attractions isn´t boring. Remember: there are four Disney parks there. You have to decide which one to see. To save money I would choose a hotel outside the Disney area. As you need a rental car in Florida it doesn´t matter if you drive five or fifteen minutes to the parks. Perhaps better than Disney is Sea World. Fantastic shows there and much to learn about the sea. There you can touch Saving money: you can get for example at fast food restaurants magazins with coupons for every class of hotel. So you can get hotel rooms with a discount of 10 to 40 percent (!). You can get cheaper tickets for the parks at tourist informations (International Drive)or at offices close to the hotels

What's really great:
There are so many attractions, it´s not easy to choose one. Sea World is fantastic too. There everybody can touch and feed dolphins - a great experience. Close to Sea World is Discovery Cove, a park where you can swim with dolphins (230$!). If you like rollercoaster you are right at The Islands of Aventure at Universal Studios. For the evening or night you can visit Pleasure Island at Disney World. Especially there is a great show of the Cirque du Soleil. Othe attractions are the House of Blues or Planet Hollywood.

Sights:
The atractions in this area are the theme parks. At the edge of the Disney area Disney has created an own town called Celebration. It´s a very nice small town with schools, stores, a gulf area with much water. Most houses are in a southern style

Accommodations:
There is no special hotel or motel. In teh Orlando area there are so many hotels and motels that you can choose what you like. Nowhere the rooms are so cheap than there. If you only stay a few nights there I would prefer motels, espacially Days Inn´s.

Nightlife:
The amusement center at Disney: Pleasure Island. There you can get one ticket (22$) and go in about ten bars, discotheques and a comedy warehouse. At first have a look, how many cars are on the parking lot... Close to this island there are attractions like the House of Blues or the Cirque du Soleil (!). The Universal Studios have a similar area: City Walk.

Restaurants:
There are so many restaurants that it´s not easy to choose one: from fast food to lobster restaurants.
