Symphony of Lights 
Symphony of Lights is a laser light show that starts every day at 8 pm. The best place to watch is from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. The show is a combination of musical effects and lightening up 37 buildings on the Hong Kong side of Victoria Harbour. All buildings light up in turn, spotlights move up and down and left to right. Multi-coloured light beams shoot up into the sky. The Bank of China is illuminated by strips of white light. These turn on and off as if the building is dancing. HMSC buildings lights up completely in red or a mixture of white and red. I read that the show comprises five major themes: awakening, energy, heritage, partnership and celebration. Chinese New Year Also called Lunar New Year, Spring Festival. Observed by Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Mongolian Japanese people both in their home land and where they live today. YMCA SALISBURY ROAD KOWLOON 
Great priced accomodation considering the location. Less thanfivemiutes walk from the star ferry and on the corner of Nathan Road. Rooms are of a high standard and service from hotel staff excellent. This is not typical YMCA but more like 4 star accomodation. Ground floor has cafe which serves very reasonably priced snacks and meal deals with a mixture of eastern and western foods available more

Want pub grub? This place has beers and bangers and mash. Good for a western-style meal. more

Mexican place that serves fish tacos and a few other classics. Be wary of a bitchy female though... more

Good milkshakes and crepes. Go up outdoor escalator to Mid-Levels, turn left, it's on the left. more

Cosmic Guesthouse 
Really clean and safe. 120HKG$ but bargaining for 1 week stay could be 100$. AirCon. more

Great shows about actual astronomy, space and ancient chinesse astronomy. 32 HKG$ more

New Garden Hostel 
14 beds dormitory with shared batroom, not so clean but the cheapest in HKG. 60HKG$. more
