The stems of withered lily pads break through the surface before finally themselves withering and falling as silt to the lake bed. I have just posted another angle where the procesws is more clear as a few partly withered pads still remin on the surface. This time of year at Altamount remind me of the Keats poem "La belle dame sans merci" O WHAT can ail thee, knight-at-arms, Alone and palely loitering?
