6,000 years ago farmers tilled this valley. Factual evidence of their habitation was discovered five years ago when the M9 motor-way was built through this sector.
The hillside is named for the poet Oisin who was reared here in fosterage just at the beginning of the Christian era. The patron saint of Ireland.
