Price offered on hostelworld is to the bone, please don't expect same price when walk in, especially when you tag along taxi driver & agency who demand their commission on top of our skeleton price.

It's a common scenario here, traveller orders taxi to a hotel, they stop at agency ?!?, unsuspected tourist doesn't mind thinking he/she might get a good deal out of it, they ring up hotel claiming their commission. If cannot agreed, they 'friendly' advise that hotel of your choice is either full, no good, or whatever to brain wash ( a term they actually use), doesn't matter if you have or have not booked that particular hotel. When you didn't buy any rooms at agency, you end up hotel hopping because they want to show you some hotels for your selection (excellent service for taxi fee of THB550!) If you bought room at agency, there is no guarantee from picture you see and actual condition. Most tourists stay only a few days and avoid the hassle to claim back their money if unsatisfied, many cases are non-refundable too.

For the hardy one who insists on his/her choosen hotel, the gang will tag along like plague, hotel cannot cut any deal because no proof of booking or to claim the guests are indeed looking for that specific hotel.

Fleeced tourist & victimized hotel end up loser, please beware!
