Hotel VIP Intercontinental
Little bit expensive compared with the cheapest hostels in Sudder Strret, but sometimes they are full and you have to look for a more expensive one. more

Hotel Maria
Excellent cheap hostel! My favourite hotel in Kolkata. They have drinks, internet, laundry service, cheap telephone to call abroad, nice atmosphere in the patio. Plenty of Spaniards working for free in Mother House to help the poors. more

Hotel Biman
It is not bad. Rooms are clean and you have TV with pull. It is close to Sudder Street and to the market. more

Capital Guest House Pvt Ltd
This is one more of the many guest houses around Sudder Street to look for a cheap room if Maria Hotel or the Salvation Army is full. more

Hotel Diplomat
In front of the bust dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore, who lived in Sudder street, and where wrote “Awakening of the fountain”. Not a bad hotel, cheap by Sudder street standard prices, but many rooms do not have windows. more

Hotel Paragon
This hotel is located next door to Maria Hotel. Same category and price than Hotel Maria, but atmosphere not so good. That is why I prefered to stay in Maria. more

Fairlawn hotel Pvt Ltd
Indeed, this is the best hotel in Sudder Street, with a wonderful patio full of exotic plants. Prices are high but the conditions also high. I had a continental breakfast in the patio and paid 150 rupees. more

Presidency Inn

How Hua
Chinese restaurants in Kolkata are very popular and offering good food. This one is close to Sudder Street. Try their House soup. A porter will open you the door and will get a rickshaw when you leave the restaurant. more

Khwaja Juice Centre
The owner is muslim. Apart from juice they serve dinners, but the waiters go out to get the food because they do not have their own kitchen. more

The New Ashoka Hotel
fax 033-2666-4208 Moderate priced hotel conveniently located besides Sudder Street and the market. Rooms are confortable. You can bargain the price. more

Super, the best in the area, cheap and excellent food and service, Waiters can also speak Spanish! Open from 6.30 AM until the last customer beyond midnight. more

Super Guest House
Next door to Gulistan hotel and ruled by the same owner. The prices are more or less the same and the conditions too. more

One of the cheapest hotels around Sudder Street. It is not my favourite but sometimes you do not have choice. more
