Sawai Madhopur seemed like a very poor village and slightly of the beaten track. Instead of completing India’s Golden Triangle, maybe the Golden diamond would be better as it is only 132 km from Jaipur before going on to Agra (227 km). There is also rail connects to these cities as well as Mumbia and Delhi.

The main reason for visiting this town is to go to the Ranthambore National Park. Once the hunting ground of the Maharajas now a national park and tiger reserves covers over 155 sq miles. It is considered one of the major only jungles in India, but close enough to the outer fringes of the Thar Desert. [edit text]  [editors]
