Lombok is the complete opposite to its close neighbour Bali in so many ways. On the one hand Bali is lush and green whereas Lombok is much drier and less fertile. Bali is a majority Hindu population whereas Lombok is predominately Muslim. You can still find tucked away villages of the original Sasak descendents where they hold onto their traditions in the manner of language, dress and tribal laws. [edit text][editors]
