Bintan is the largest of 3,200 islands in the Riau archipelago region of Indonesia. Located about 45 km SE of Singapore, this island is accessible by a 45 min ferry ride. Catch your ride from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and don’t forget to bring along your passport.

Upon arrival at Bintan Ferry Terminal, its best to check into the Bintan Resorts if you wish to idle away on its pristine white beaches and azure waters. You can also participate in the several sea sports activities or perhaps work on your tan or just read a book whilst soaking in the tranquillity. Many golf lovers frequent the resort as it boasts excellent golf courses designed by the Jack Nicklaus.

If you wish to explore the island, a must-do is a trip to Bintan’s capital, Tanjung Pinang, to experience the quaint old town, where you can find houses on stilt! [edit text]  [editors]
