Member opinion: This hotel is known by three at least names - Tradewinds, The Backpacker and the Adventurer, which was a bit confusing when I arrived at LAX. But the good thing was they offered a free shuttle as the hotel is located less than five miles away and complimentary muffet and coffee. I read a few reports on line before booking and they weren't good, but as I was only spendinga night I thought I tould tough it out. The room was pleasant, but the staff weren't. Kind of more then my job is worth attitude. I paid around $44 and if I had too would stay there again because it really beats spending the night in the departure lounge.
