Trevi is one of the most impressive hilltop villages in Umbria when seen from below. It is a great place for a night or more and offers good walking in the area. However its pretty recent arrival on the tourist scene has its drawbacks as well as advantages. The bus service to the station is geared very much to the needs of schools and there is no bus down in the morning between 07.00 and 10.50. If you resort to a taxi, the nearest are in Foligno and it will cost you €30 to get to the station. [Experience speaking!!] The TIC can't even provide train times if the computer is down!
One outstanding thing to see indoors is the ancient wall organ at the church of San Francesco, which has been completely restored recently. Of course, even better is to hear it in action. It has a beautiful tone. It can take up most of a day exploring Trevi's narrow streets, seeing its ancient buildings and walking out to fome of its frazioni [minor hamlets.] [edit text][editors]
