Travel guide to Castelbuono
Castelbuono is a village reached by bus or private car from Cefalu in northern Sicily. Don't be fooled into thinking the station is anywhere near it. It's a long uphill walk.
Castelbuono has only one hotel - very cheap and you get what you pay for! However it's a very friendly place and it's great to visit the old castle and see the view of both the village below and of the interior of the island.
Not outstanding in the sense that there are a number of villages in Sicily not very different - but easier to reach than many and very enjoyable.
Sadly http://www.comune.castelbuono.pa.it/default.asp is only in Italian but that won't stop you taking the photographic tour. [edit text]  [editors]
