Scanno is a small village just outside the Abruzzo National Park in Italy. It lies just below the main road and its streets are prodigiously steep. Below it in the valley is a lake.
It may or may not be true that in Italy all roads lead to Rome - but there was certainly a bus that seemed to start there firmly labeled for the capital.
Tne National Park is one of the very few places in Western Europe where there are wolves and bears, though your chance of seeing either is very small. However, don't let that put you off. A visit to Scanno is a delightful experience. [edit text]  [editors]
