This lovely romantic island of Jamaica is a perfect place for a retreat. The island is fairly large and the roads are not too good, with people driving at speeds that would make anyone cringe.
But Montego Bay or Mo-Bay as it is affectionately called is the second largest city in Jamaica to Kingston the Capital. The local currency is Jamaican Dollars and it is valued at around US$1= JA$46.
The beaches around Mo-Bay are superb, but there are also other activities which are well worth seeking out. There are many colonial or working plantations of interest, then there is the shopping (one must not forget to buy the Blue Mountain coffee, one of the best in the world) there is also an abundance of water sports as well as rafting down a river in bamboo rafts.
If a good party is in order be sure to visit in August for Reggae Fest or Reggae Sunplash; two great musical festivals. [edit text][editors]
