Ryokan Sansuiso
For people looking for budget accomodations in Tokyo, this is the place.
Located a short walk from Gotanda train station (on the Yamanote line), it is clean and cheap (for Tokyo). A private room with a public bath is only 4900 Yen, about $45 US, which for those of you who know Tokyo is very affordable. Rooms with private bathrooms start at 9000 Yen.
The only drawback is that it is a ryokan, or traditional Japanese inn, which means there is a public bath and they actually LOCK the doors at midnight! If you are looking for a lot of partying, this isn't the place for you, but if you want a clean, affordable, family run hotel room in Tokyo, drop in. more

This is the Shinjuku location of El Torito. Personally, I think lunch is one of the best meals thety serve here. A huge plate of 3 tacos, with rice and refried beans for less than $10 US, in downtown Tokyo no less! more
