Santiago de Compostela - Spain When our Catholic Kings made the pilgrimage to Santiago, they erected a shelter for pilgrims. Since then, the XV century, it has been a place to feed pilgrims. When in the XX century a company wanted to buy the buildong to construct a 5 stars hotel, that condition of the Catholic Kings was still in force, and because of thet this hotel has to feed the pilgrims 3 times a day during 3 days, for free!!
Of course, the restaurant is inside, out of the sight of the customers, because the pilgrims arrive dirty, without shaving for weeks, with broken clothes... but inside it is much better and youi can eat and drink as much as you want.
