Auckland is the inofficial capital of New Zealand-I am sorry, but I had a slip of the pen in my last report about Wellington and only noticed it as it was too late already-wonīt happen again-I promise.

The harbour is quite a nice spot-but for a chill-out afternoon you should try the region around the Rose Gardens and Mission Bay.

I enjoyed the Auckland Central Backpackers.Nice staff and the bar on the 7th floor is quite wicked on a karaoke evening.

The Sky Tower is worth it.You might try Kelly tarltons Under Water World.I havenīt been there myself, but it is supposed to be quite good.

| Accommodations: |
The Auckland central Backpackers is alright.There are several nice hostels which are small and clean-but a hostel in the center gives you the chance to reach everything without using the bus.
If you canīt stand huge hostels, go for a smaller one outside the city center.

| Nightlife: |

The Bowling Club near Sky City is excellent.
