What's not to love about LP? Great town in N Laos. A UNESCO Heritage site for its many temples and different styles. Great people and awesome scenery all around. At the tip of the town 2 river come together forming 1. Spend your days exploring the many temples, taking a trek into the N, hiring a boat upriver to the Pak Ou caves, checking out the local waterfalls, taking a boat to some villages, explore the Talat Dala market during the day or the night market later. Rent a bike to explore on your own. Walking is an option as the town is easy to navigate on foot. Carefull not to arrive too late in the afternoon as the GH seem to fill up quick. Most don't have a lot of rooms to offer.

Sitting down by the river just watching time pass. Climbing Phousi Hill for some great views. WatXiengThong temple.

|
Banana shakes at the Luang Prabang bakery in the mornings. The great food at the night market. Watching the kids fly their homemade kites. Seeing some teens playing guitar and joining in with them for a little while.

| Sights: |
Pak Ou Cave 23km upriver. Buddha shrine inside the caves. Take a flashlight to see everything in the upper cave.
Of course the many temples all around.

ChoumKhong GH...Between the river and Sisavangvong Rd next to the Mueseum. Very close to a lot of temples and markets. $10US/night. Fan & HW.

| Nightlife: |
|
Most thing close early here. The streets are mostly empty by 10pm or so.
|

| Restaurants: |
Luang Prabang Bakery great for coffee or banana shakes.
Pak Houy Mixai good food and cheap.
Night market for the cheapest and best food!
