A very special town

  10 votes

Braunau is a very historically significant place, as it was where Adolf Hitler was born and lived until his 3rd year. It attracts tourists from all over Europe and the world, although the reason for their being there is not so celebrated. Still, the people are friendly and will direct you to the special house if you ask nicely.

Favourite spots:
The Hitler House, the Konditoreien, just walking through the town and seeing all the pretty and diverse houses is a treat to the eye.

What's really great:
In the Stefanskirche you can still see the font where Hitler was baptized as an infant. It is not far from his birth-house.

Restaurants:
Brauerei Bogner- the food is excellent and the decor is beautiful.

Other recommendations:
The Bäckereien and Konditoreien cannot be overlooked.
