I went down to the Fars region in a search for the shiraz wine. I did not find it, but I was not disappointed. This album shows a selection of views from Shiraz, once the capital of Persia; Persepolis, once perhaps the capital of ancient Persian Empire; and royal tombs, a resting place of the greatest rulers of this great ancient empire, one of whom was responsible for a battle near Marathon in Greece, which subsequently led to a creation of a certain sport discipline...
