Benghazi is Libya's second largest city. Its parts are stunning. The historical centre has an Italianate feel. Even the later buildings were erected to resemble the same style in architecture. However, the main attraction of the old town is neglected and the grand former townhall looks like it desperately needs fundamental repairs.
The cornish, by the sea, is lovely. The promenade is very cilivised - clean, modern, wide and on a curve. [edit text][editors]
