Antsiranana (Diego Suarez) is the largest city in northern Madagascar with spectacular natural bay (the second largest in the world, after the one in Rio de Janeiro). It has bee ravaged by many cyclones and some of its grand mansions have been weathered. Diego, as it is locally referred to, has a great nightlife, like any port town of decent size. Many clubs have such a great decor and amazing atmosphere that they would do great anywhere in the world, be it Balearics or Florida. Diego is a gateway to the parks of Ankarana and Montagne d'Ambre, both listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. There are also great beaches around with delightful little hotels, much more peaceful than those in the town. [edit text][editors]
