Le Mylord
Absolutely great place to party. Its decor is really progressive making it a great surprise, as judging from the outside, the place looks like a big hut. The circular dancefloor is surrounded with cushioned seats and tables, and the bar is large and well stocked. The music played varies from current Malagasy pop and delightful 1990s US and European pop and dance. more
Les Bougainvillers
This is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel of the same name. This is probably the best restaurant on Madagascar serving amazing seafood. Their brochette de crevettes or brochette de fruits de mer are fantastic. Some of the tables are located on a terrace overlooking the sea, but the waves can get very large and splashes can reach quite deep into the restaurant. more
Les Bougainvillers
A place hidden by the bushes and flowers of the bougainvilleas right by the coast. There is no beach, and the erosion is slowly eating up the shore. They charge about €40 for a small house, some with sea view, or about €25 for a room in the main block. The place accepts visa cards and their restaurant is probably one of the best in Madagascar. more
Morondava Beach
Probably one of the best value places to stay in Madagascar at a beach. The hotel has a group of bungalows right on the beach (the beach is vast, so there is still a hike to the shore). The bungalows are spacious, and differ for size. The smaller ones have one giant bed and a small single one (€25). All have own bathrooms and hot water is available most of the time. The hotel is located almost at the very end of the peninsula lined with a number of better hotels. more
