Member opinion: ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM is next to the Skifa on Place de l'Independence and full of archeological finds such as mosaics and statues from El Jem (an almost intact Roman colosseum just south of Mahdia), an (inevitable) collection of oil lamps and examples of Islamic art, dowry chests and calligraphy. Labels are in Arabic and French. The museum is closed on Mondays.
