Dome Cafe
Not to sure the origins of this chain; but it was a nice place to hang out for a late breakfast, a cup of coffee or early evening dinner. I liked sitting outside and watching the people pass by in front of the fountains. They serve more western fusion food. more
Internet Center
I was really please with this internet centre. The connection was fast and the place was comfortable. I was really happy as well as it was non smoking so it didn't smell like the one I was going to use opposite the Marriott Hotel.
It was fairling cheap 4ringgit per hour plus an extra two minutes free on the first hour more
Street Food
All over town there are many local eateries. I found this one on my way to the computer shopping mall. I never ate here, but it was interesting to see they way they sold the food. more
La Bodega
Apparently KL's first tapas bar, located in the Pavillion. You can dine outside and on some eveinings that have live bands playing. more
Crystal Jade Kitchen
The Pavillion is an excellent shopping mall where you can pick up all the best designer labels. On the outside of the mall they have many restaurnat, and I was incredible lease and found my self there on moore than one occasion. more
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
It was great trying a new coffee joint instead of Starbucks. But to be fair much of the same. HOwever I really liked there cheesecake. But they are located all over the city. more
Auntie Anne
A pretzel can be a healthy snack or it can be dipped in butter and then coated with flavoured sugar. But when shopping it's a quck and tasty way to get a quick sugar fix.
This is an international branch and I belive the headquarters are based in the States but a quick break for pretzel and a galss of juice extends the shopping experience. more
Mandarin Oriental
A wonderful hotel, with service that was second to none. It was a real joy staying here. It's located in the city centre in the shadow of the Petronas Towers - a perfect location. The views are also perfect, either a park or city views. I got upgraded to a park view and it was just so nice just sitting and watching the world go by. This has become my favourite hotel. more
Petronas Towers
The petronas towers - second tallest in the world - give a great view of the city. You can only go up partway, to an observation bridge between the two towers, but it's a great place to go and see the entire city. more

Quality Hotel City Centre
This hotel doesn't have a good central location in Kuala Lumpur. Then it's located between two rail stations - 'Bandaraya' and 'Sultan Ismail' (I recommend commuting from the first one). However the nearest attractions are the Chow Kit Area, Sogo Shopping Centre and Jalan Masjid India Area, with the last mentioned being popular for a wide range of fabrics. Getting to other attractions in the city is tricky as the rail networks here are not truly intergrated (exit completely from elevated lines to change to underground lines, no unified ticket system). The road in front of the hotel is not taxi-friendly (one-way, busy traffic on evenings, tough for them to filter right at the next junction when venturing out of the hotel). Room-wise it was pretty average. My rating's based on the location. The hotels in the Bukit Bintang Area are better in comparison to location here. more

Pan Pacific Hotel KLIA
A hotel conveniently located at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Rooms are from MYR390.00. This hotel is linked via sheltered walkway to the airport terminal. Checkout the facilities available at the website. Due to the pretty remote location of this airport and the hotel, (it's 30mins++ by high speed rail to KL city), it would only make sense you would stay here if you're transiting or attending an event at the Sepang F1 Circuit. more
Vistana Hotel
Supposedly a 4 star hotel, but you can get much cheaper price. I stayed there just with 114RM. Big room, quite a family hotel -not to noisy-. Easy to get around, monorail stop is just 5 minutes walk away. more

LA TABLE D’HOTE
What makes the place different from other French restaurants is its emphasis on traditional French countryside cuisine. La table d’hote (pronounced “la tabla dot”) may be challenging to pronounce, but it simply means “table of the host”.
Dining takes on a laidback concept, but with fun in mind. Walls are painted in playful strokes with murals reminiscent of Picasso. Opened only two months ago, the restaurant is ready to unveil its final menu.
Business hours: Tues-Sat (8.30am-11pm); Sun (8.30am-6pm). Closed on Monday. more

This restaurant is located in TTDI and just about 10 minutes from Bandar Utama and the famed 1Utama Complex. The theme in this restaurant as its name suggest is 18th to 20th Century and so be prepared for a blast from the past experience in casual Dining. The food served hot and is primarily Fusion, French, Asian. The price is a bit dear but fits the theme and ambiance. Highly recommended! more
Restoran Buharry
It seems like an unlikely place for a Nasi Kandar shop. Nasi Kandar is a traditional way of serving rice with other side dishes to choose from. The Buharry is a refreshingly informal Malay nasi kandar restaurant on posh Asian Heritage Row. Popular dishes such as nasi ayam (chicken rice) and fish head curry (prepared with half the fish, not just the head) are served canteen style with refreshing mugs of iced tea or sweet Malay-style hot tea and coffee. Take a plate of rice and serve yourself from the huge piles of curried meat, fish and vegetables. more

Kuala Lumpur parks
You will definitely see one of the signs below in all the Kuala Lumpur parks. Which one?
*No kissing
*No children
*No running
*No eating
*No talking
Ex: You have to follow it strictly otherwise you’ll be fined or even brought to the police station!
The authority is serious about this. Imagine, you're taking a stroll in the park with your loves ones, the sun is warm, and the birds are singing, butterflies dancing among the flowers. Tired from walking, both of you sitting on the bench. Looking at your mate, suddenly the urge for mouth to mouth contact is rather strong. But I'm afraid you will get yourself into trouble kissing your mate in the park in this part of the country. The “No kissing” signs are all around the parks! more

Pondok Lodge
Great place to stay. I felt safe here and trusted them to keep my passport safe. They have great tours leaving from nearby, and the common room lets you meet other people. It's close to everything - the Petronas Towers, the Central Market, KL Tower and Chinatown. The staff is helpful with lots of tips, and there are good food carts on the streets nearby! more

Poppy Garden
The Poppy Garden specialises in Indonesian, Malay and Thai cuisine. The decor is of a mixture of Zen and the Tropics, dimly lit but adds to a nice ambiance to the whole setting. There are live performances of gamelan, tabla and angklung during the evenings making it a refreshing experience.
From the menu, the Poppy Platter (RM28), sun-dried beef, fish cakes, egg spring roll, sugarcane prawns, Vietnamese rolls and dips, should get your appetite rolling, with the beef a particular standout. The hor mok maprow (RM18) and Thai otak otak steamed in young coconut are very tasty with large chunks of seafood.
The Poppy kueh (Malay Traditional Cakes) selection (RM3) or kao meaw mamoung (mango and sticky rice, RM6) are lovely, but opt for the lighter Jewel in the Garden (RM4) instead. It is the perfect way to end a warm night.

Fish & Co
Fish & Co, tucked in the far east corner of Lot 10, is not a fast food place, though it is not a fine dining number either. It is simply a place for good quality seafood at wallet-friendly prices.
Labelled as the best fish and chips in town (RM15.90), it is a chunk of fish fried whole with a few spoonfuls of lemon butter sauce. If you prefer your fish crispy, then you might want to tell them to hold or skimp on the sauce. The seafood platter for two (RM47.90) is all about variety and quantity, filled to the brim with flaky seasonal fish, grilled calamari rings, juicy prawns and mussels, all atop a bed of fluffy turmeric rice; sure to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites.

Café Café
Specialises in authentic French and Italian Cuisine. The restaurant boasts of luxurious decor but be prepared to tantalise your tastebuds with its exquisite french dishes and delightful desserts.
We were told that everything is flown in fresh from France and the menu displays a sensible mix of italian and french decadance. There is in fact an entire section dedicated to foie gras. Have it with orange and passion fruit (RM52), in green pea soup (RM25), in salad (RM29) or simply pan-seared (RM48).
Desserts are petite here, as it seems they should be, though you'll probably end up wanting more. The crème brulee (RM16.90), with the rich vanilla flavour of its custard core and crunchy, torched sugar top, has to be one of the best in town. But the summer tiramisu (RM18.90) is no slouch either. Cold and perfectly soaked in liqueur, it makes for a beautiful ending indeed.
