This bronze statue was unveiled in 1952 and commemorates the 1941 February Strike when dockworkers protested against the deportation of Jewish residents. Each year, on 25 February a commemoration service is held on this spot. The statue is easy to find as it is just beside the Portuguese Synagogue.
