Marrakesh (or Marrakech) is one of Morocco's UNESCO-listed cities. It is famous for its main market Djemaa el Fna, which is a busy trading, show-off, eating, cultural, shopping, drinking and entertaining spot. Its atmosphere shifts dramatically at night, when the smoke from the countless grill mixes adds a mystic touch to the scene. Marrakesh is referred as a red city due to the hue of the paint in which its walls and many buildings are painted. The city is a gateway to both the Sahara and the High Atlas Mountains. Its tourists facilities are remarkable and the international conferencing centres, often used by world leaders for official meetings, adds some exclusive accommodation options. However, the International Campsite, close to some 5* hotels is a great and safe option as well, complete with showers, and intrepid travellers. [edit text][editors]
