Sunset on Ibo Island

A picturesque Ibo town, located on a small island of the same name in the Quirimba Archipelago in the northern Mozambique, is a delightful little place. It boasts old Portuguese forts, delightful colonial architecture and quiet beaches. Its population is small and the people are wonderful. This could potentially be one the best places to be for an exploratory holiday married with relaxation and veggying on a beach with a book and sunscreen. There are still very few options to stay overnight on the island, but this is not a place visited by hordes of tourists. The only way to get to the island is to hire a boat from a fisherman at the main land. The crossing can last from 1h to 4h, depending on tides and winds. Unless the man has a motorboat.
