NAI Netherlands Architect Institute
NAI is the Netherlands Architect Institute is not only a museum but also a cultural institute. It has one of the largest collections about architecture in the world. Eighteen kilometres of shelves containing drawings, sketches, models, photographs, books, journals and other materials. The whole collection is open to the public.
The NAI organises some twenty exhibitions per year about. Themes vary from urban design, interior design and landscape
The permanent exhibition "Living in the Lowlands" shows drawings, models and photographs of life in the netherlands. It shows what domestic life was like in the netherlands during the past 150 years. more
Kunsthal Rotterdam
The Kunsthal organises some twenty-five art exhibition a year. They range from impressionist to modern art, and jewel from the orient to pop-art. The building itself is intersting from an architectural point of view. It was designed by Rem Koolhaas, a Rotterdam born architect. more

Cube House / Kubushuis
Cube Houses are curious from a architecture point of view.
The entrance to the house is by way of a narrow staircase in the trunk or pole of the house. The living quarters are in the cube itself. The cube seems to be tilted and placed on the pole resting on one points. There are three floors, shaped in a triangle. The walls are slanting. Downstairs is the living room and kitchen and a study.
On the second floor bedroom and bathroom and the top floor, shaped as a pyramid, another room, with splendid views, the best place of the whole house.
The downstairs rooms are fairly dark, the windows are small and there are not many. There are 38 of these houses and their selling price is 200.000 euros.
