A sparkling Oasis in a sea of over publicized, over developed Caribbean Islands, Corn Island retains its laid back, pirate roots. It's name comes from an English Pirate's misunderstanding of the Spanish word "carne" or meat - Spain used to load up on provisions on the Island in the 17th century.

There are no beach front resorts, only two small 4 star hotels, a dozen bed & breakfasts and a couple of hostels, but otherwise, this tiny island is unspoiled! Choose between a 1 hour plane trip or a 5 hour boat ride from Bluefields, then grab a hammock on lightly traveled Picnic Beach.

Located at the southern tip of the Belize Reef, scuba diving is a short 3-4 minute boat ride away and the variety of coral is unparallelled! The island perimeter can be walked in 3-4 hours. Better yet, rent a bike! Sundays feature a full day of baseball, year around - grab a Tona beer and a chorizo empanada and enjoy a game! Habla Espanol?
