Henningsvaer is situated on the north of the east coast of Norway's magical Lofoten Islands. It's only a short, though imensely picturesque, bus ride from Svolvaer. All the way there is the shapely 'Lofoten Wall,' the mountain range which stretches in a practically unbroken ridge to Å - yes, that's the right name! - many miles and a couple of islands away to the south (on your right as you approach until the last five minutes when the bus swings to the left and over a bridge among the host of barely separated islands that make up the village. In the centre is the harbour and if you get beyond and look back to the mountains above you have a view difficult to beat.
There's not a lot to do there in the early season other than admire the setting - but with a setting like that, who needs more? [edit text]  [editors]
