I am always looking forward to my airline meal even though I know

some of them are not all that nice. Yet on long flights they break

the journey. If you want to know which airline serves the best meal

and which airline had better be avoided, have a look at

http://www.airlinemeals.net. Lovely pictures of meals and you can add

your own.

I would like to know what your favourite ailine meal is.

We must be on the same wavelength, Marianne! I just recently discovered that site myself... it's amazing! They have pictures of meals going all the way back to the 1050s, as well as pictures of meals from first and business class (the kind of meals I never get to see when *I* travel!).

As a rule, I order the vegan or "pure vegetarian" meals when flying. They're generally healthier, and I am usually served first and get to feel like a big shot. :-) I'm glad airlines don't charge extra for the special service.

That is a coincidence! Do you have a favourite airline regarding meals? My best experience was Singapore Airlines. We were given a printed menu and could choose from two type of meals. This was economy class. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the whole flight. We went to Amsterdam to Singapore. The worst especially their breakfast is KLM, the Dutch national carrier. No longer our national pride as Air France took it over recently. KLM has the knack to make an omelette look like and taste like a dishcloth.

(oops! I ment "...way back to the 1950s" in my other post!)

This year I've flown Air Canada, BMI and EasyJet, and I can't say any of the meals were that remarkable. However, what was great was the breakfast and dinner I enjoyed on a first class round trip from London over to Brussels and back on the Channel Tunnel train... great service, too. I rarely treat myself to that sort of thing, but thoroughly enjoy it when it happens.

Now that I know about that web site, I will be making a point to photograph and document the meals for posterity. :-)
