I am changing my travel ways this time round, instead of just backpacking around the countries taking it all in, I would like to volunteer for something --time approx. 2weeks in Feb.

If anyone knows of any reputable organizations please let me know. I'm fluent in English and can get by in French.

These Organizations would have to be able to accept Canadians. Also I'm not into the Missionary thing.

thanx in advance

Which country do you want to volunteer in? are you willing to pay money for the privilage? do you want food and board supplied for your services?

Everything is open, I have never done this before so I don't know what is out there for it.

If I get the chance to see what some org's are offering I may or maynot choice some of the things your mentioning.

Do you even know which country you want to be in? If you could narrow it down to a continent even, that would be easier! There is different stuff available in different places.

nope not a clue,

probably closer to home say, central America, Carribean, S. America perhaps Europe somewhere.

I mean there is alot out there but I don't have a clue where to start. I just know I don't want to do missionary work. Perhaps if I could find places that take Canadians without specific skills. And I'm not a student anymore so that eliminates alot of grps. i found that it's hard to grps that are NOT geared to students.

Volunteering work in south america tends to require a good working knowledge of spanish.

There is really so much stuff out there it's hard to narrow it down. Try looking at these 3 different sites, they are not meant to be a recommendation just a way of finding out what you want... or don't, sometimes that's just as good!

let me know how you get on x
