An interesting issue concerning display of photographs has arisen.

Is there a Globo Policy on display of photographs taken against the rules of museums, churches, mosques, synagogues, monasteries or other places of restricted access?

Good health and high spirits!

what do you mean? Do you have pics that you took of "museums, churches, mosques, synagogues, monasteries or other places of restricted access" that you want to post? Or are you inquiring because you saw some on the globo site and want to report it?

I don't think it should be a problem to post them.. I say kudos to those who do manage to get restricted pics!!

i agree with ta-shy on this .

at restricted areas usually the cameras are not allowed

and if any one has taken the pic by his own risk.

and i dont think any harm in taking pic of buildings unless

it is of critical safety thing like defence of a country

It is all described in Terma and Condition section 6, at the bottom of the page.

Section 6. Submission of Travel Reports (journals) and other Content.

Thank you Marianne

I believe the following paragraph from your reply answers my question.

"

b) the use of such Content by Globosapiens.net will not infringe the intellectual property rights of or otherwise violate the rights of any third party.

"

My interpretation is that publication of material obtained against the rules of the owners / controllers of building interiors, artifacts etc potentially infringes the intellectual property rights of the owners / controllers and should be removed from the GLOBO site.

I think it means that you cannot 'copy' and 'paste', from somebody else's website, in other words photos and text must be your own work, no plagiarism.

I think it is broader than a ban on "copy and paste" since it includes the phrase "or otherwise violate the rights.

Owners / controllers have a right to determine the conditions under which they allow access and at what price for what level of access.

If the terms exclude photography then the taking of photographs violates that right. The publication of such photographs is a further agrivation of such violation (i think)

So, what is the exact question your posing?

I have pics posted of border crossings in Haiti, a UN military base in Dakhla and the presidential palace in DR..

do you want Globo to remove from the site because they are restricted places?

I have 2 pics of Elvis Presleys cars taken in the museum as well as his airplanes (pics are not allowed in the museum).. I also have pics taken inside the Museum of Egypt... yes, I realize they are not allowed to be taken but I have them and feel it is worth it to show to people..

If I'm barking up the wrong tree here let me know.

well mari explained in very simple and straight way,but it is already known tht one should post his/her original works and not a copy of some one others work.

as far as resticted places are concerned ,i dont think ta-shy should remove any of her pictures, why to remove ,it is not a offence, she has taken pic on her own risk ,I really praise her for tht.
