Hi there,

I just noticed that I am still having moderation rights for the General Travel Advice board. That's something I would like to change since I am sure that you members do have much more of an insight on the forum topics than I do.

So I am searching for a moderator on this forum to pass my moderation rights to that member.

Best regards,

andy

Hi Andy

As always I am happy to help but I think it could be somebody else. Perhaps david or rudi would be happy to do so.

I think most important is that it should be somebody who regularly logs into our community and is an active member. And somebody who has not much scruples deleting unwanted adverts and really is looking into what is going on.

There has been quite some advertising lately in the forum which wasn't deleted, either because moderators were absent or just negligent. I'm a bit concerned whether Inzaghi still is actively interested in our community... I would really not like to miss him.

Perhaps we should appoint two moderators to each forum like that the possiblity that one is absent is smaller and it takes away pressure. Not that it takes a lot of work and time to moderate the fora but it needs a vigilant eye and consequent behaviour.

Good luck to the new moderator(s)

Have a great day

Martin

I'd be happy either to do it or to share with somebody.

I have no idea what to do but I'd like to do it. I watch a lot of t.v. and I hate advertisments.

Hi everybody,

thank you for your replies. I have assigned Ta-shy and davidx for comoderation on that forum. Both seniors and very active and responsible members. Mortimer I know that you are very bussy and you do a lot on GLOBO anyway so I have followed your advice with the comoderation. ehs1193 I would have liked to assigne moderation rights for you, too. But mortimer and davidx have been first and so I have to give them priority as well. I will keep you in mind for the future.

Thanks everybody and a good start to Ta-Shy and Davidx.

Best regards,

Andy

Thanks, Andy

I look forward to working with Tashi.

Ethan, don't be disheartened. I'm sure Andy means exactly what he says and that many members will agree that you will be an excellent choice for moderation soon.

Cheers

David

Tashi and David

Congratulations and welcome as new moderators.

Perhaps you already saw that we have moderators topic arleady online:

http://www.globosapiens.net/topic-moderation-of-forums_47_1204_0000.html

And two entries about fora I found:

http://www.globosapiens.net/topic-forum-jack-up_47_2179_0000.html

http://www.globosapiens.net/topic-forum-readablity_47_1712_0000.html

I think it would be appopriate if every moderator would check out his fora and delete obsolete topics.

It's spring now, isn't this the time for a rigourous cleaning? ;-)

Have a great day

martin

Thanks Martin

I found this very helpful. It takes a while to realise where different messages should be posted. notice that some of what Rudi rightly describes as misplaced are messages of my own some time ago and more recently I moved a message to Help and FAQ at your own suggestion.

It does seem to be a useful activity for moderators generally to do a bit of steering. I see the second message on forums/a that you quote was by Tashi so I shall be happy to follow her lead on this one.

What I don't know as yet is how to delete anything that is clearly improper.

Cheers

David

That was a quick 21-hour descision Andy! If you ever have such a post going again I'll jump to volunteer quicker next time. Having travelled in 52 countries, being up-to-date with world news and developements and being able to log in twice every day at GLOBO, I would be pleased to help the community at a "moderator" level too, perhaps somewhere else in the future. Meanwhile congratulations to Tashy and David who can do this very well I'm sure. Let me know if you ever need substitution, otherwise will help anyway. RR
