sugam Joined: Nov 05 Points: 199 Posts: 8 Posted: 2005-12-27 11:53:00    Here goes a news regarding Nepal, globally made like this: Three among world's top 75 destinations from Nepal Nepal has once again come to limelight globally as a popular adventure destination with the November issue of Wanderlust magazine based in the United Kingdom (UK) published the list of top 75 destinations from all over the world. The list is reported to be based on the request made by the magazine to vote for Seven Wonders of the World. In the list, Mt. Everest, the Himalayas and the Kali Gandaki Gorge have been placed on the 14th, 36th and 43rd positions respectively. Cheers! I am agree that Nepal is a top destination, I have been here in September 2003, and I am comming back this year. I found the locals super friendly and kind. The mountains are fab anf offer marvelous trekking experiences. Yes I did see some Maoists, but they did not cause problems, it will not deter me from comming back. I love Nepal, and I am telling every body to come and visit this counrty. Nepal need visitors and is hugly dependent from the money generated by tourists, it provides jobs for porters, guides ... I think that the year 2006 should the year of "visit Nepal". I can t wait to go back. Another 9 months to go. You are most welcome to Nepal. Ofcourse For natural lovers Nepal is a land of natural beauty that metaphor can not delineate its real picture. Its a great thing Nepal could able to grow up its business through tourism which is completely be eco-tourism and we need to save this natural beauty and protect environment through sustainable tourism. I can't agree more with Isabelle's comments. I was in Nepal for a month in 2004 and was warmly welcomed by the families of my students and friends who are studying in the UK. I am very happy to be going back for a work trip in April and intend to spend my summer there exploring new places and seeing old friends and 'family'. The School of Oriental and African Studies in London run classes in the Nepali language - i am doing the beginners course!!! Yes there are problems within the country but with sensible precaution and advice you should have a trouble free journey! Go explore! Mags --- Enjoy it while you can!
