Travel guide to Leba
Dunes of Leba
Dunes of Leba
Leba is a small fishing village in the Pomerania, northern province of Poland. In the summer it converts into a holiday resort receiving tens of thousands of travellers and beachgoers. Leba has not much to offer in terms of sightseeing. In the winter, it seems abandoned, gray and sad.

Leba has been (unsuccessfully) competing with Ustka over the title of the Summer Capital of Poland. The Poles eventually elected Ustka. Both towns have launched on a very clever and successful campaign of direct rivalry, which received unprecedented coverage in the national media. This obviously worked very well for both communities.

Leba is one the good gateways to the Slowinski Park Narodowy (SPN), which boast Europe largest shifting sand dunes. Actually, the ancient Leba was based on the left bank of the Leba River, but it eventually consumed by the dunes, and the village migrated to the right bank, its current location.
