Member opinion: If you can imagine a single book store that takes up a whole city block, you have some idea of what this feast of a store is about. Three stories high. 68,000 square feet. Complete with a Gallery for new editions and events, as well a "Rare Book Room" housing an incredible collection of 1st editions and signed copies. THis store is so jam packed, it offers a museum type guide/brochure as you walk in, with layouts of each floor. New, used, paperback, hardback, hard-to-find, you name it, it's here. Check out the Orange Room where sellers come in to trade or sell books over the counter. You don't have to love books to enjoy Powells. In fact if you love books, Powells just might be dangerous.
