hi - have checked out your new pictures. note your responses above you wrote to yourself, a mistake i made when i started here. to get comments to the intended recipient i am a big user of the guestbook but you seem not have one. nice iimage of the barberini fountain - friends stayed in the deluxe hotel bernini in the background. romulus and remus also very nice.
i guess being on the bus gave you a vantage farther than the walking tourist gets, makes for a nice panorama. n.

Nico, Thanks again for your comments. This is just the way I respond to comments on my pics as you have already noticed ;-) I do have a guestbook but I disabled it to stop the many spam messages appearing in it. Oh Yes the Bernini is a good choice and popular with visitors from the States. I loved the atmosphere in that area also, and the tour bus is always a fav of mine when visiting any city.

This is a great picture with great sky and stunning Italian light. Our great writer James Joyce is reputed to have rather bitterly said that Rome reminded him of "some fellow who made his living by showing off his grandmother's skeleton!!"

Thanks Hugh, I have a similar pic from another day with a clear blue sky but I like this one better with those clouds.
