Member opinion: Tesco Department Store is good for a full day shopping when it is raining. In communist days it was Department Store Maj, the place where people waited in endless queues just to get teaspoons or whatever article happened to be in stock. The building is a true landmark. It was designed in the 1970s and in those days it was a daring project as it tried to be in line with western architecture. The design included big yellow numbers on the facade but these proved to be too western and too daring for the communists.
