Felicidades Dani por tu nuevo proyecto!

Posted: 2006-04-21 09:21 PM

“Cause there's something in us, deep inside us, the passion for life, the excitement of the discover, go higher, go further, go deeper, do the impossible, see what others just can dream ...”

Thanks my Friend...

Hi Dani
Thanks for your China advice. Yes, Huangshan is also on my route. I have been to China and Tibet before - in 1987. I know that China is changing now rapidly and want to see Three Gorges before they dissapear...
How about your plans for the near future?
Greetings
Wojtek

Around the world in 80 days

Posted: 2006-04-19 10:43 PM

your lion picture

Posted: 2006-04-17 09:16 PM
Dear Dani

Thank you very much for your message im my guestbook.

I did not consider you a tourist, you clearly missinterpreted my statement.
Quote:
What a sad picture of the king of animals degraded to a tourist attraction, kept as "tame" animals to have their picture taken.
End quote

By saying this I explained what I felt when I looked at your picture. I had the information that this picture was taken in a park in zimbabwe and the information the picture transported: you are caressing a big lion like a small cat and posing with it just for the picture.

Nowwhere in the whole world would anybody let visitors caress such a big and dangerous animal and pose with it if it were not almost 100% safe.

Am I not allowed to express what I feel when I look at your picture? Am I not allowed to explain what message a certain picture transports to me?

I just had a look at the homepage of antelope park. There they have plenty of pictures of people with the lion even children are there! Now where does dany the bold and fearless traveller fit in there?

I believe you that this was a great adventure to walk around with the lion, however I would not have cared to do so. When I visited Botswana I saw Lion hunting, saw them eating a giraffe, saw them drinking, saw them feeding the cups and heard them calling each other. For me this is the real thing, this is nature. I sadly had not enough time and money to go for a walking safari, which I would have liked to do. However when we were camping in Moremi we had elephants passing at stone throw next to our tents. In this picture I was standing face to face with the elephant about 15meters away.

You clearly are a traveller but you also do „tourist things“ as your picture gallery proofes. I found over 30 pictures of well known tourist places like: tower bridge, leaning tower of pisa, ponte vecchio, great wall, duomo di milano, british museum, sherlock holmes museum, terracotta warriors. There are people visiting those places on tour bus trips and there are people visiting those places as part of their travels. So no need to get heated up by „tourist attraction“ because all these places are tourist attractions to.

I hope I explained my feelings well enough.

Have a great day.

I believe that You understand, Dani...

Posted: 2006-04-07 09:46 PM
Hello my Friend!
and thank you for you the wishes in my guestbook... Yes, I am back home after this fascinating journey through Atlantic. My next dream came true... Since many years I was dreaming about king penguins in South Georgia, lonely Tristan and Napoleon's places on St Helena: saving money, giving up many less importans things and pleasures... People (also from GS) do not understand that: if somebody travelling alone already crossed up and down with his backpack Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas he can dream now about new, distant island... There was no other way to these islands then aboard such a ship like "Maryshev"... They also do not know that with some effort and intelligence you can beat down the official price of the expedition... (Experienced travellers know how...). They are convinced I am guilty because I - the old bacpacker - travelled with wealthy people... They probably envy me... I believe, you understand why, my Friend.
Greetings!
Wojtek

After 9 months on the road, Welcome home “Indiana” Serralta!

Posted: 2006-03-25 09:42 PM
Olé Dani!
That was an authentic journey, alone, no travel agencies, no hotel booking, no sponsors, but instead fighting your way overland from South Africa to Egypt, plus Middle East and Europe, sleeping in cheap hostels, taking crowded local buses, old boats, and eating in the natives markets. You are unique Dani.
Do you know how much paid Wojtech for his cruise of 38 days to the Malvinas and the South Atlantic islands, half of them uninhabited? 5000 sterling pounds! And that was the cheapest in a double cabin, without including the airplanes tickets, in to Ushuaia, and out from Cape Verde! That ship is only for rich people from California belonging to an elitist travellers club (TCC) whose members collect countries like spoons or stamps and chartered that boat because they wanted to put a foot in Bouvet Island which they consider a “country”.
Members like you are a pride for Globo. Now we are waiting for your reports and your 2000 pictures.
Sos un pibe barbaro! El mejor de Globo!

Dani, where are you travelling now?

Posted: 2006-02-26 03:16 PM
Daniel.
