"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Ciao

... they are Dragon Blood trees. I didn't sleep last night so I am not too bright today. Great photographs.
Jorge is visiting or has visited Socotra Island off Yemen. Looks like it might be a popular destination.
thanks again,

Whether you like somthing or not is a matter of taste and preferations and it's an individual thing.
As to St Sava church - I went there to see the biggest orthodox church in the world (reportedly). It's still under construction and the only thing that may impress for the time being is the size. But I'm not a fan of huge churches. In Poland we have many catholic priests who compete with each other trying to build bigger and bigger churches. Many of these constructions are erected only to show off, e.g. Lichen basilic in Poland - one of the largest in the world is a mare from architectural point of view. Don't you think those big churches resemble the Tower of Babel (in a bit metaphoric meaning of course).
And in the end of my post, let me thank you for your remark, I just wrote other than I thought about the location of Novi Sad and Subotica, it's obvious they're north of Belgrade.
Thanks for reading and rating my report. I'm sorry you didn't like it. I tried to present the way Belgrade impresses travellers, and as you can see from the report I had mixed feelings. You can say I'm biased or something, but I have no reason for bias; I just tried to convey what is the city like. And unfortunately, talking with other people, I realised this isn't only my opinion. In Montenegro I met a family of Belgraders and when I told the guy we were in Belgrade for two days he asked "Wow, what did you do there for such a long time?". Later on I had to explain to several people what was so interesting in the city that we stayed there for two days. They couldn't believe there's anything worth seeing. Coming from Serbia, you have the right to disagree with such views because they're not very favourable for your capital, but please accept the fact, that other people have the right to have their own opinion.

Neda,
That sounds very encouraging. Algeria has been on my list for a long time. We have planned a trip to Swizerland and Indonesia, so Algeria will have to wait.
Happy New Year to you too. Any travel plans?
