Good to hear about your Vegas plans Jim, sounds a good opportunity, hope everything works out OK.
I haven't stayed at the Sahara but I remember it is very convenient for the monorail. I keep hearing rumours that it is going to be extended to the Downtown area. On my last two trips I have stayed on Fremont Street, first time at the Golden Nugget, then last year at Fitzgeralds.
Moving to Las Vegas certainly gives you plenty of great picture sharing possibilities. I had a great time in this area and enjoyed all those geologic wonders of nature very much.

James,
I really enjoyed your slide show. I saw the camp ground, but do you know if there are any backpack camps? Or is there too little water supply? I have been back packing in Joshua Tree which also desert and there is a stark beauty that is hard to describe. This has that same beauty!
Fantastic slide show, excellent photos. I saw once the same kind of errosion when we were in Tanzania, but on a much smaller scale and not in this red colour.

Welcome back James! A great slide-show of the area and it's amazing geological shapes, a bit short though, more please! :-) R'Rudi
