to reply your question about the Mursi: yes, they are living like that. They are approx 25 "villages" (I should say settlements) around the north eastern edge of the Mago NP. Tourists are often trapped in the first 2 villages (the closer to Jinka town, to obviously save fuel costs). we drove 2 hours further and found this village; 20 huts or so, and another village, same size, 400m away, with same chief. The women are NOT holding their plate all the time, as you can imagine; without the plate, the distended lower lip is swaying below their jaws. Usually, all 57 tribes in southern Ethiopia are charging for taking photos (2 Ethiopian Birrs per pic (1Euro is 14 birrs); we tried to convince them that paying a global fee when entering the village was better for them, because all the village will benefit from this money, and not only the most attractive people.
