Novosibirsk is the capital of Siberia. It is a large modern town, which otherwise feels a little a backwater place. There are not many interesting sights in the city, apart from a certain church, which claims a geographical centre of Russia. Well, there is an exception, the grand railway station of Novosibirsk Main, standing at the Transsiberian Railway. A few old, wooden buildings stand shy here and there, but that is it. Unless someone is into the social-realism style in architecture, of which there is plenty. In fact, this would be a dream-come-true for those who love that. Novosibirsk is expensive. It is well connected with the rest of the Federation and there are a number of airlines, some favouring the 30+ years old Soviet aircraft, flying in many directions and there also a number of international flights. There is of course the longest railway line in the world and a river port. [edit text][editors]
