Member opinion: Sanya, in the south of Hainan Island, is so developed that there you will come across all the tourists’ activities that you might find in Miami Beach, Acapulco, or in the Spanish Costa del Sol (banana boats, parachutes, diving, etc.). From the lovely Sanya you can arrange one day excursions to the tribes of the mountains or to the Nanwan Monkey Islet. In case that you speak Chinese, be aware that not everybody understands Chinese Mandarin. The local language is Chinese Min, also spoken in Taiwan and Fujian; the ethnic tribes of the mountains, such as Li, speak a language similar to the Igorot, around Baguio (Philippines).
