Monte Gordo little town with great beach.

Monte Gordo is a small tourist town in the Algarve and it's just a couple of K's to the Spanish border. The town itself has little to offer other then small restaurants and medium sized hotels.

Favourite spots:

The beach of Monte Gordo is the place where you are probably best off. It has nice clean sand and it's big!

What's really great:

When strolling one morning over the beach we found a whale that was stranded in the shallow waters just off the beach. Altough it's never satifying to see a dead animal it was nevertheless a good opertunity to see great details on such a beatifull animal...

Accommodations:

Camping municipal just east of town offers alot of space for your tent or caravan. In winter lot's of elderly people spend the winter here.

Restaurants:

Pizzaria's and seafood is the major thing here.
