Brandenburg Gate's by siffer

Berlin - Germany, Berlin The Berlin Wall, built in 1961, actually incorporated the Brandenburg Gate. This view from the east, the back of the gate, with the death strip just west. It was here where John F Kennedy, US president, gave his famous speech, followed two decades later by Ronald Reagan. The symbolic gate was opened after the fall of GDR and refurbished beginning in 2000. The surrounding areas are all pedestrianized. This image is from the back, the eastern side.
